Morning mandy welcome to the madhouse!
I take it you've spoken to one of the free debt helplines?? CCCS National Debtline CAB? (its a question you'll be asked once you get to court)
I know its easy for me to say but its really not as bad as your thinking it will be, a ton of folks here have been through bankruptcy and out the other side relatively unscratched
Anything pops into your head or you just need a chat the support here is second to none..and remember even if the question sounds daft to you ask anyhow..we'll usually have an answer! We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -

thanks everyone,
the cccs explained what happens but not what happens in the yr you go through it.
does the or come round? if i say buy a magazine one month with my shopping do you get into trouble? things like that?bsc 347:j0 -
Hi . No no-one will come around to your house. Also you will have submitted your budget to the courts to the official receiver so you will know what you are allowed to spend on say food for example. You can then spend that money how you like - if you buy a magazine and spend less on food that week/month no-one will ever know (or even care). If you post your SOA up here people will let you know how the Official Reciver (OR) is likely to view your budget -obviously individual OR's have little differences but by and large the amounts you will be allowed for things like food, clothes, utilities will be the same. At the end of the day your money is still yours to manage - you just need to make sure that you make the payment that the OR has told you you need to make. They will check your budget is reasonable and depending on how much you earn and how much you need to spend they will decide whether you will get an IPA/IPO.

Honestly, the interview really is no big deal.
It's an interview to get any extra information needed to deal with your case, not an interrogation.
