British Gas Complaint
                    Hi
This is my first post in this forum. Sorry if I have asked a repeated questions, search didn't come up with much result.
A friend of mine has changed her gas supplier from British Gas. Normally their annual gas is around £3700. After moving away from British Gas they sent a last annual invoice for £6800.
I have called and written to them but havent received any feedback at all. Are there any other places I can call or write to for help? Whats the watchdog for gas companies?
Thanks in advance

Have you checked the final meter reading is correct? If not did your friend's new supplier give a meter reading to British Gas. And also have you taken into account gas bills have gone up massivley over the last few years? If that doesn't shed some light on it and BG aren't responding then as always marvellous said energywatch may be able to look into it for you.0

£3700 is a lot of money. Is this a business?
The general advice still applies though, check the final meter reading. Check the previous years bills to see if they are estimated or not.

British Ghastly, have a nasty habit of sending an overcharged estimated final bill, when one is moving away from their supply. Ignoring any up-to-date Customer reading.
Possibly in the hope that the new supplier will not query the high estimate, cos they, BG, charge the new supplier to investigate any complaint.
So for BG it is a win-win situation, in my opinion it is THEFT, but they seem to get away with it :mad:ac's lovechild0 -
            Thnx for all the replies.
Yes it is a business. I now have to find all the years bills from the accountant before I can proceed.
Arrgghh.. such a headache.
Thanks again0
