Had no problems until it printed pages covered in black ink now the red light is flashing .Is this serious is it repairable or do I ditch it and replace .

First thing to do would be to look in the manual to see what the red light flashing means.

If you don't have the manual, Google it, it will be online somewhere.

Only the red light?

If red and green then the waste ink pad needs resetting

Remove the cartridges and see what wiping the cartridge slots with a cloth does, hopefully you will clear any excess ink, then replace the cartridges

If there wasn't any excess ink, try removing it from printers and devices, use revo free or ccleaner to remove the software, then re-install the software, the printer needs to be off until it prompts you to turn it on

You can get the software from Epson if you do not have the disc, choose the operating system if it does not detect it

Epson seemed to have moved to all in ones and as the R200 is a good photo printer, its equal is the PX660 at £105, however, at £18 more the PX720WD has better options
