Hello
I'm saving up for a laptop to take to university this september. I'm looking for that rare combination of power and battery life, preferably for under £700.
I would really appreciate some advice from you guys about Brands or even specific models.
What I'm looking for is basically a cheaper version of something like a Acer Aspire Timeline X 4820TG.
Cheers in advance

Unless your prepared to look at a MacBook, I think you've found the best laptop for power and battery life. There are less powerful models in the Timeline X series so if you're looking to save money you may have to lower your spec a bit.0

You could get a ThinkPad X220 with a 9-cell battery for just over £755... or a refurbished MacBook Air 11" for £739. Lenovo claims the former will run for fifteen hours between charges; the latter just looks nicer.

Speed, price, battery life - pick two, at the expense of the other.0

Toshiba Satellite R630-155
Toshiba claim 8h 55m on battery, I get a genuine 7 hours out of it as have all the review sites.
Speedwise, is a 2 hour AVI transcoded to DVD in 27 mins quick enough for you?Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0
