Lol, no I wasn't joking - I just hadn't realised Royal Mail had issued booklets to cater for larger items. Makes sense now, lol.MSE_Andrea wrote:Sorry, I did laugh at your question, Fait Accompli, but I can see why you read it that way. I've just altered Martin's note slightly - I hope that makes it a bit clearer
Cheers...I read the post so wrong, lol...silly me! :doh:0 -
As usual, my local superdrug don't bother informing the staff on the tills about the validity of the 10% off voucher so I was once again treated like a common criminal yesterday (this happened all summer long with the deal they had then). The two girls had to ring for the manager who arrived and said to them "oh yes, you haven't been told about these have you"? Well why not??!!!!!! It makes me really mad but I'm determined to brazen it out for the discount!!!!! Still, the kerfuffle with the summer vouchers did wonders for my maths as I soon learned how to work out what 10% off something was as the staff seemed totally incapable of doing it!!!!
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -

Link to the voucher. I always find I need to click on it twice. Click on it once and it opens the WHSmith home page and then just click on the link again and you get the voucher. I know it sounds silly but it works for me!!
Have you double checked that you have actually got them and they have not been withdrawn ?
Only the voucher you've linked to says ....
"Normal Clubcard terms and conditions apply."
and in the T&C for the clubcard itself it says .....
"Are there any restrictions?
Points will not be awarded on and cannot be redeemed against, purchases of gift vouchers, charity products, stamps, National Lottery products, phonecards, book tokens, theatre tokens, tobacco, cigarettes and certain other goods that may be notified from time to time. "

They must recruit from the same place as Focus, where the girl on the till thought that £15 off a £30 item amounted to a 25% discount! I had the same problem with the Superdrug voucher in the summer - I did wonder if it was Head Office's way of offering this great discount idea then putting people off following it up, but then I'm paranoidIf you can't be a good example, be a dire warning

My mum said she wanted First Class stamps. I said she should get them from Superdrug. She went in and bought a book of 12 on 12 December. She was charged £3.84. What went wrong with Martin’s advice?古池や蛙飛込む水の音0

MSE_Martin wrote:What's the deal?
Superdrug is offering 5% off First class stamps (just those for letters, it doesn't sell stamps for parcels) until 13 December.
In other words, if you needed to post a parcel costing £3.20, you could use 10xfirst class stamps (worth 32p each) which would only cost you around £3.03 from Superdrug (£3.64/12 = approx. 30.3p each).
I would have mentioned this when Martin first posted, but decided to wait until I'd checked with Royal Mail my belief that you could aggregate NVIs in this way.0 -
In general, NVIs are useful, as they’re postal-inflation proof. NVIs_2006-08-21.zip is a zipped CSV file giving all the values you can reach with the NVIs that are currently in existence, up to £4.00. (Yes, I’ve been using them like that for a long time.)古池や蛙飛込む水の音0

Of course, you can add the odd 1p or 2p stamp to make up any other value other than those Alfie has listed, too. Useful list, though, Alfie for anyone who sends lots of parcels/non-standard letters.0
