CP Plus fine for leased car

Hi my DH had a meeting with his boss at a service station a few weeks ago and has now had a fine from CP Plus forwarded to his employers by the company they lease the company cars from. The lease company have also charged DH £24 for admin costs  and because it had to be sent on the whole £80 is now due, rather than £40 if you pay early - a total so far of £104
Apparently he was parked for 2 hours and 45 minutes so went over the 2 hour parking limit. His boss btw was parked there for the same amount of time and has not received a fine.
Now I know the advice is to ignore these idiots but as DH is not the registered keeper the letters will keep being sent to the leasing company who will keep charging us £24 admin for each one they have to forward on. Also he's worried his employers will get worried if they keep receiving threatening letters from CP Plus or "solicitors".
Any advice would be gratefully received, thanks.

Works meeting with the boss? sounds to me as though the boss should pay it0

Do NOT pay the admin charge. Get hold of the terms and conditions of the lease, they usually refer to "fines and penalties". Point out to the lease co. that as this is neither a fine or a penalty but an unenforceable invoice the admin fee does not apply and you will not be paying.
Make sure your boss/fleet manager reads and understands this Fleet News article.0 -

This, absoltely right.
Print out the Fleet News article and raise this with the Union (if there is one) or the line manager, stating categorically that it is the lease company's error in actually falling for a fairly well-known scam. Your husband needs to make them embarrassed I think at their lack of knowledge of an issue which was outed on Watchdog over a year ago:

I would very much doubt that the lease company can charge an admin fee for handling anything other than a real penalty from the Police or the Council. Check those t&cs and stand your ground - the lease company have been taken in and your OH should not be taking this lying down.
He is entitled to ignore a fake PCN as it's a personal allegation of a breach of contract which goes nowhere and is only ever the business of the driver. It has nothing to do with the vehicle, the keeper nor the owner; it is not an offence nor a traffic issue and is not a penalty nor a fine.
Just because the PPC is 'allowed' to obtain the keeper's details from the DVLA doesn't suddenly make their invoice have any authority; in any case the keeper (employer) and owner (lease co) have zero liability and zero interest in this matter. They need to wake up and smell the coffee and start ignoring these chancers on behalf of their drivers. They should either be binning them or passing the letters to the driver to personally ignore, not falling for the scam!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

thanks for the advice :T
have shown this to DH and he will be taking this up with both his boss and the lease company on Monday.
just to add, his boss arrived at the service station half an hour before DH did and they left together, but his boss didn't get a fine. Is it just done randomely or something??0 -

It's very random but please don't focus on another car that didn't get a fake ticket, it's irrelevant and could muddy the waters if mentioned. Your OH needs to make the points above, clearly pointing out the lease comany's glaring error here.
The point is, if they fall for fake PCNs so easily then ANYONE could send them a regular invoice on random headed notepaper, with one of their car numbers on it and they would just dumbly pay it?!
I try hard to get another fake parking 'ticket' round here all the time, just to cost a local PPC some money in writing to me. But they never bite, it's very random and we believe they target obviously leased cars as they know that some Fleet Managers can't tell the difference between their rubbish and a REAL penalty...PRIVATE 'PCN'? If the bosses car was blue then that explains it all.
Your OH was wearing the wrong type of socks...100% cotton and he wouldn't have got a ticket.
