Lord of the rings Collectors dvd box sets

Yea i'm sure they are not making any more now, its just a matter of the shops selling the stock.
Its funny that the two towers set was realeased in November 2003 and theres plenty to go around yet. However the same can't be said for the return of the king that only came out 3 months ago, I can only find a handful of online retailers selling these. It makes you wonder if they have only made very few of the final piece of the collectors box sets.0 -

I've experienced the same problem. After getting one Two Towers set for £24.99 (when HMV, Game and Amazon etc were selling them at this price) and then getting a 2nd for £17 from Music Zone, I thought I'd wait for The Return of The King to drop in Price.
In the end though I paid £33 at Amazon as Choices and Sendit had the Title as deleted and Wh Smith in-Store was £40, I couldn't find it at any other shops/etailors.
My theory is that after the huge demand for the First Set, They must have decided to make loads of the Two Towers sets as Not to disappoint the 'fans'. Not sure why the third though was so limited, maybe they assumed the demand would have dried up?0 -
You would probably only bother to collect the set now if you already had the 'expensive' one. Then you would most likely bought the others when they were cheap, so I am not sure who would want them now (other than people buying to sell on).
Like most things, I would only buy these if you actually want the item. There may be a couple of quid to be made, but the fact that one is so cheap means that that is the common one. It's a big thing to store safely too.

For anyone that is interested, the Fellowship of the Ring boxset with the Argonath bookends is still widely available in Region 1 format (look on amazon.com for $60 so around £45 if you take into account shipping & the £10 customs fee it may incur.
or £25 plus customs from dvdsoon.com0 -
