Hi Everyone,
I'm going to visit Croatia. When I enquired at the Post Office about buying currency they said that there are different opinions about which currency to take.
Some people feel Euro is better apparently whilst others recommend the Kuna.
Can anybody advise on this please?
Thanks
SB

Other currencies and changing money in Croatia
You will find that you can pay for some items - accommodation, taxis, some restaurants - in Euros. You'll find most people know the current rate of exchange between the Euro and the Kuna and if you do wish to take some foreign currency to Croatia, Euros are probably the most suitable. Generally, though, you're better off having Kunas (or converting your own currency into them) to make things easiest when you're in Croatia - it is the currency, after all!0 -
a couple of years ago everywhere i went they mainly dealt in the local currency although euros can be used for accomodation.
Definately get kuna, might be worth taking a £40-£50 of pounds notes, that you can change into K's on your last days, so you don't come home with too much..
the smaller value notes are not changeable at home0 -
We just used ATM's and followed the advice about money overseas on this site and had no trouble bur much does depend on where you are going.0

The post office is the last place you want to buy foreign currency.
