Hi I have a badly broken leg which isn't healing it could be upto another year and I was wondering if there are any benefits I might be entitled to, thanks . Am presently on the sick from my job but will soon be put on stage 2 for long term sickness and go on half pay.
Starting to save £2 coins again, but it is a struggle:rotfl:Not doing very well keep spending them

I doubt it as your 50% will be more than SSP etc?
Is it an ongoing problem that will heal?
dont work for Royal Mail do you?0 -
You need to put a lot more information on here if you want help.
Family, household income, rent etc.
How much are you receiving now and when did your accident happen.
etc. etc.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Would it be possible for your employers to move you to another role that you could do from a wheelchair while your leg heals?
I know with my husband he did need several operations over the time his broken legs healed but he was still able to work inbetween ops in a diffrent role, which he hated but we needed tha money as we were both very badly injured in a car crash so we had next to nothing coming in I was in rehab so I couldnt even think about leaving the hospital till I could at least manage to sit (after months of been flat on my back while my spine healed.)0 -

well I could have given you more practical advice regarding light duties,ATOS(within RM) etc
is there no scope within your workplace for different duties?0 -
It's always worth seeing if you can get different duties so that you can still work even if it's only part time.
If you cannot, then when your income drops you may be able to claim low income benefits such as council tax and housing benefits.
If you are off work for more than 28 weeks then your sick pay will run out and then you can claim Employment Support Allowance.0 -

You might still manage as a TA whilst in a wheelchair - my son's school had a wheelchair user who was a TA. It might be worth speaking with Occupational Health abut this.0
