Indesit Dishwasher - Depreciating Credit Offer
Comments

Hi. What a really good thread! Can I just say though - normally for electricals, I tend to go to Argos. This thread would actually make me want to shops at Currys!
It's a shame your dishwasher failed so soon - I have an Indesit IDL500 and it's still working fine after 5 years, but I think you have done really well to get the £125.
I would never have thought to contact the shop if it was outside of the guarantee.
Well done!0 -
Hang on moment !!!!
Currys must know that there is a known fault with this model as they wouldn't be paying out that easy outside warranty, Ok my advise would be:
1. don't use the words "not fit for purpose" a kettle that you purchased and took home that could not boil/hold water would be "not fit for purpose" you clearly have had use so it was fit for purpose, just my advise customers use this all the time misquote!
2. Products durability is what's at question here!!
3. Try and get it replaced 1st and then say that currys have not meet you expectations and you have every right as a loyal customer to be put back into the postion you where in prior to your purchase going faulty
4. Google model and fault and say to curry's that you believe it has a inherent known fault and will pursue this through small claims track.
5. if still get no joy then accept the offer as it a good offer and even if you go to court the court will take into consideration that you have had 16 months of successful usage and the retailer only has to give a partial refund!
sorry about my english it late !!!
Cheers0 -
But...But...But Currys are holding up on their end of the bargin. Above infact.
Doesn't matter if the machine has a known inherent faulty or not, Currys is providing a Partial Refund which is whats required under law. In fact they've done better than the law as they could of made you jump through all the hoops that the SoGA allows the retailer to request of you.
Point is, Currys can choose to replace or repair or refund. It seems in this case a repair or replacement is disproportionately costly to a refund, and taking into account how long and the price etc etc and what you can buy a new and better system for £45 extra I would say and have said in this case Currys has been more than fair.
And, this thread is over a week old, no updates or activity on the OP which means they've taken the advice found previously on here and moved on.0 -
£125 sounds like a reasonable offer...
Also, put your old machine on Ebay for parts/repair (collection only ofc) and you can get £10 or more for it from someone that is willing to repair it/use for parts. And it will be taken away for free0 -
Hey, my indesit IDL40 slim dishwasher which was bought in september 2009 has stopped working. What did you originally email currys to get this response from them. I called them but they said i had to send in an engineer report and repair bill.:(0
