It certainly is not free! someone has to pay for it to be fixed. My policy has an excess to pay not to mention it will bump up future insurance costs! Then we start talking about time and hassle to make a claim and arrange for it to be repaired.

Now its reasonable to expect noise, disruption, and dust but it is not reasonable to accept damage to your property caused by a builder doing work on a neighbours property. As for not moving a car well where would he park it? why should he buy a cover for it at his expense? its parked on his property likely the only place he can leave it while on holiday!

Document it with pictures and video in front of the builder and make them put it right. If it costs them money that is their fault they clearly should have been more careful.

Thanks again for replies and advice. I have taken pictures of everything so far. Also spoke to the neighbour who is assuring me they will sort any problems out if the builders don't.

I'm going to have to keep a close eye on it and get some estimates

    Thanks
