Bleeding a radiator

Hi Folks,
I noticed that my upstairs radiators were piping hot at the bottom but ice cold at the top of the radiator. I thought I would bleed them and then realised there is nowhere at the top of the radiator for the key to go? All there is is a valve you can turn on each end of the radiator where the radiator meets the pipes, theres nowhere for air to be let out of these though they just seem to be for turning radiator on/off. How do I bleed the radiators!?

Are you sure? Never seen a radiator yet that didn't have a bleed nipple. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Have a look on the back top edge of the radiator …for the bleed nipple.0

I was quite suprised that I couldnt see anything either, Ill take another look on the back when I get home. I noticed that some of the radiators downstairs seem to have a bleed nipple on the pipe below the radiator, they wouldnt have put them under the floorboards upstairs would they!?0

I am in a similar situation, I have 1 rad in my house (just moved in) that doesnt seem to have ableed valve, so I would also be interested in any feedback.

Do you have a rounded top rad?
Is there anything at all at the top corner ?(a square hole?)
That's a drain point at the bottom .

All my radiators bleed valves are on the 'wrong side'. I've found that they all face the wall. In fact, on the double radiators, I have one on each side, again, both facing towards the wall. Hopefully, if you have a look you should find yours in the same place I would suspect.0

Have a look on back of radiator. My radiator has one top left corner on the back covered with a little cap.0

Normally, the bleed nipple is a triangle shape, but I noticed on our new radiator/towel rail that what appears to be a bleed nipple is now designed to fit a screwdriver?
Are all bleed nipples traingle-shaped?Of course, I may just be talking b****cks!0 -
Yes it was hidden away at the back of the radiator, I've bled the radiators and added more pressure to the system and its loads better now, thanks guys
Any idea how much pressure shud be in the system or is it dependant on factors? It was at just over 0 bars and I've put it up to 0.3 now.

We run outs at 2 bar (with out the heating on) If you get a bleed valve thats stuck or dont ahve a bleed valve you can loosed the end cap at the top of the rad with a wrench / adjustable spanner till water starts spitting out then tighted up again. If it doesnt pay rent sell it.
