The joys of ordering from Wickes

I ordered some guttering and waterbutt for my shed plus a basin tap for the bathroom with free next day delivery
The next working day the waterbutt and guttering arrived but no tap, it was not even mentioned on the delivery note as 'to follow'
I ring them and get told that it will be arriving separately some time in the next 28 days. (so much for next day delivery uh?) I am not in a hurry for it so no problem really.
A week later a get a letter from their delivery company explaining that they are the new delivery agents for Wickes and enclosing a yellow balloon and a leaflet explaining that i am supposed to put the balloon outside my house on the day of the delivery so their driver can find it easily. There is even a nice picture on the leaflet showing what a yellow balloon looks like outside the house.
Its now one week further on and I get another letter plus another yellow balloon plus leaflet and a delivery date.
the expected delivery date is the .......................
...... 25th December 2011 !!!
i rang them and they have now called me back twice and finally decided that they will be delivering my tap tomorrow morning.
isn't it nice to see a well oiled machine in action?
and no, I won't be putting any yellow balloons outside my house, the driver will just have to read the house numbers like everyone else.
