Has anyone had any experience with these?

I had the salesman round last night, and presure sale is not the word!! he was there from 1900hrs untill 2200hrs just talking I think I said about 10 words and most of them were "I'd like some time to think about it" but he wouldn't leave until I bought the two smallest windows in the house to secure the discount blah blah blah

I still think that £975 is expensive to have 2 windows fitted so I'm cancelling it today! Just thought i'd see if anyone thought i'm mad or if anyone thought i'm right!

Well we had a quote from Anglain and he measured all the windows and then went for the door and said he'd call back with a quote in the morning which he did but it was about £9k!!

the windows (sorry I shoud have thought of that) were 1200mm high by 600mm wide and 1400mm high and 600mm wide both with transom bars and only one with a top opening.

Why is it that some people cannot be assertive with these salesmen/women?

They are there at your request, and should leave at your request too.

If that had been taking place in my house, he would have been shown the door a lot sooner than 10pm.

The tactics they use are a form of bullying, and if there's one thing I hate, it's bullying.

my father who can be very assertive had 2 people in hs house from one company they were ther for 5 hours when i turned up , they were realy aggresive and when i said he is not interested they said he has wasted our time and petrol coming here i said he asked you for a price he doesnt want to pay that much now he wants you to get out again more mouth so i walked across the room and locked the door and now your not going any where until i decide i kept them there for 2 hours by then they had said sorry we just get hassle from work we wont do it again sorry now can we go off they went

When you say he "wouldn't leave", what do you mean exactly?

Did you ask him to leave? Did you tell him to leave? Did you escort him to your front door? Did you offer to call the police to assist him to leave?

Tricky things, double-glazing salesmen. If you invite them into your home, you need to be assertive with them.

The trick is to invite them round in the same evening (I had three quotes provided) and give them one hour slots - one after the other.
