Virgin Credit card

I have a Virgin credit card with a balance of £360. I have been made redundant and am claiming ESA due to a fractured wrist. I have been paying £25 per month minimum payment which I can no longer afford to do.
Will I be able to obtain a 0% interest card whilst claiming benefits? If not, is it worth me contacting Virgin to ask for my monthly amount to be lowered and interest frozen? I need all the help I can get!

Any advice gratefully received

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate situation,

First thing is first, Don't panic, Or berry your head in the sand.

Phone up Virgin money, And tell them the situation, Ask if you can be put on a short term payment plan until you have enough money to start clearing the balance off, Offer them a temporary token payment of £5, Remember £5 is better then nothing.

No, you will not be able to get a 0% card whilst unemployed.

Thanks for the advice Micheal. I've made the call and am now completing the income/expenditure form so fingers crossed it gets approved.

Did they say whether they'd be placing an AP (arrangement to pay) marker on your credit file?

If they did (or do when you check with them) then you may want to ask family to help you out instead in the interim period, because even when you get back to work you may find it difficult to obtain (good/cheap) credit with the aforementioned AP marker residing on your file for the next 3-6 years.
