Indesit engineers no morals at all

Here is a copy of a letter I sent to a senior Manager at Indesit after numerous wasted calls to their customer services , after having the cheek to complain because one of their engineers damaged my car drove off and and subsequently denied all knowledge. No answer and no help what so ever!! don't use this company it wasn't even my appliance this so called engineer was attempting to repair , what a Joke and now it looks like I am out of pocket for nothing.

I would like to bring to your attention the actions of service engineer control number ??? who unfortunately is employed by your company and by sheer bad luck happened to be mending or at least attempting to an appliance next door to a friend of mine. When he left the address of Mr. and Mrs. ???of ??? at 12.30 pm 23/04/2011 he hit my car which was parked outside my friends house and drove off. When I reported this to numerous customer service personnel and was promised prompt action I was hopeful of at least some decency. However I was very very wrong, never once being called back and continuously chasing your staff to try and get the damage to my car mended. As I should have expected of a man who just leaves the scene of an accident hoping to get away with it he has lied and denied all knowledge of hitting my car a blue Volvo s40. Either he is suffering from severe memory loss or as I expect is a total liar without any morals, hardly the sort of person I would want coming into my home to look at anything I owned.
I have since been told by your customer service department it’s his word against mine and I will have to get my insurers to write into them and basically hard luck! What a disgrace, I spoke with a person called ??? who whilst polite enough could not help in any way and way obviously very keen to get me off the line. I think your company from the engineer who hit my car and scampered away to the numerous customer service people I have spoken to need a stiff lesson in dealing with the public and doing the right thing. I have contacted my MP about this as I feel so very strongly that this should not be allowed to happen, the customer gets treated so badly these days and it’s about time it stopped and large companies like yours should stand up for what’s right and decent and not allow a sneaking service engineer to make me hundreds of pounds out of pocket through no fault of my own.

    Oh dear!

When writing a complaint letter, you should make it unemotional, concise and to-the-point and never EVER use sarcasm.

Your letter has failed on all points - and has probably given Customer Service staff a good laugh.

I do appreciate that you are very angry about what's happened though, it's a particularly nasty thing to do.

    Rule no:1.
Before firing off random email with emotion, have a cup of tea first. That way you will always get things done better.

Yes you are upset, but allow your insurance etc to deal with it. You would be better off on the motoring thread.

Did you actually see him hit your car? or are you just assuming.

Hit and run is a police matter, why report it to the one person who will deny it?

Indeed leaving the scene of an accident is against the law, report it to the police giving the Registration number of the van. Did anyone else witness this as it probably is your word against his otherwise.

You need to see this from the other side (ie the customer services rep). You claim that their engineer hit your car. They have asked the engineer and he has presumably said he didn't do it. If there's no obvious damage to the van then it is your word against his. What do you expect them to do?
