Advice on buying festival tickets

I want to buy some tickets for one of the sold out festivals (haven't decided which yet) so have been looking on ebay
Obviously none of the sellers yet have the tickets in hand so is there anything I can do to ensure I will get the tickets when the time comes? I assume it'll be too late to claim the money back if they don't arrive?
Thanks

Hi,
With PayPal you have 45 days after sale to dispute a transaction and claim your money back if there is a problem. Ticket sales for future events (tickets not yet dispatched) are a loophole. This makes it alot more difficult if you come up against a dodgy seller, to get a refund.
I buy and sell on ebay regularly, and really like ebay. But I have had to go through PayPal resolution about 15 times for items not sent, item bought was stolen goods etc. This has been fine because they have always decided in my favour and I have never been out any money.
Personally I would not buy tickets that are not in hand, outside the 45 day protection. If buying a high value item like festival tickets I would use PayPal funded by credit card. In the majority of cases buying in advance works out fine, but it has the potential to be a bit of a nightmare. There are always plenty of tickets still for sale nearer the time, when you decide which festival you want to attend. Best wishes.0 -

you could try http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk to buy your tickets i was duped last year by a ebay seller for creamfields tickets for my son and lost over 100 quid so i would advise going through the right channels and not ebay....other stuff yeah but never tickets. reason i say this is because it also happened to a friend of mine recently when he purchased peter kaye manchester eve news show tickets off ebay he was robbed also because the tickets were refused entry to the show. apprently they were reported as stolen.
:T"MSE Money saving challenges..8/12/13 3,500 saved so far :j" p.s if i been helpfully please leave me a thank you but seek official advice at all times from a pro0 -
The risk of buying via ebay is too high. Don't do it. For what its worth the following are not sold out, Reading & Leeds, Download, Sonisphere. It may be possible to get tickets for Isle of Wight via viagogo. A strange one is V Festival, apparently sold out and with dire warnings re unofficial ticket sellers, yet it proceeds to list dozens of these vendors, weird!.0

If you want to buy tickets on the 2nd hand market use sites such as Viagogo, GetmeIn, Scarlet Mist, which gives you protection should the seller be dodgy.
Or wait til nearer the festival so that your inside the 45 day paypal window before buying on ebay.0 -
Yeah I would say check out Viagogo!0
