the link in the post above takes you to a page where there is a green box with "free download" this states it's version 1.0.1 if you click that it should download!

The green box on that link states that it`s version 1.0!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you do ever find version 1.0.1 "save it to disk"
then get rid of the old version at "add and remove",then install from "saved to disk"

You can check for updates within the Firefox browser:

Select drop down menu TOOLS then select OPTIONS
Select ADVANCED from the panel to the left which will appear
Under the SOFTWARE UPDATE heading ensure that the boxes FIREFOX and MY EXTENSIONS & THEMES are ticked
Underneath that you will see a button called CHECK NOW. Press that and it will search for any updates and download them to your pc.

  • Cheers, must I uninstall my existing one before I visit the site?

No - if you uninstall v1.0 then you will lose all your settings, favourites, links, etc.

Download the new version and install it over the top of the existing one. Worked fine for me. :)
  • Many thanks.

I beg to differ I uninstalled v1.0 put when asked keep the directory Program Files\Mozilla Firefox keep it.

I installed it last night once I uninstalled V1.0 and extensions and themes remain.

I cant guarantee this will work but it worked for me.

Up-date patch available in 10 days

At the moment, you have to uninstall FF 1.0 and download the whole thing again to get FF 1.0.1. In about a week or 10 days, you'll be able to get a patch instead, handy if you're on dial-up like me. Have a look at this thread from the Firefox forums:
