First Child, what can we get?

Morning all

My partner is expecting our first child in october, we both work full time on ok money, altough this just about covers living costs etc! What will we be entitled to claim for? After maternaity leave my partner is going to return to work part time, we will lose a bit whilst shes on mat leave and again when she returns!

After the baby arrives - child benefit and possibly child tax credit/working tax credit (with help for childcare) depending on your income - to obtain an estimate you can go to the entitledto website and put in your details. (Very low incomes would also mean entitlement to council tax benefit and/or housing benefit but presume this will not apply to you, Good incomes will not entitle you to anything except child benefit).
