Hubby Going Self Employed. WTC Income Help!

My Husband hasn't worked following an accident at work and after years of trying to get work he has decided to try and set up his own business and go self employed. What I don't know is how to put that down on tax renewal , given that he will make a loss do we complete as "0" for hs income and take the loss of my "earnings".

My understanding that the renewal for this year will be based on last years income but that will be wrong for this year if my husband goes self employed, as we are already paying back a small overpayment, I don't want to make a mistake again this year!.

I have tried to call the tax credit line to ask but I'm constantly on hold and the lines are so busy I thought I would ask here. :kisses:
