Hi, i dont want to reiterate the consensus because the above answers your questions. What i wanted to add is that i think settling the default will be a waste of money and time, you probably won get mainstream credit until it falls off....but you wouldn't even if it was settled
The Aqua card will be an option in 6 months....you may wan to check out the sygma range, but dont apply for months
One more thing, i have a default that shows on experian but not on equifax, check both and if it is not on both you can try one of the mainstream lenders that only use one CRA...there is a therad showing who uses who2 CCJ's coming off in July and September 2011:j1 Satisfied Default for a measly £81:mad:£200 Capital One, £1500 Barclays Overdraft, T-Mobile Contract:cool:0 -
Awesome, thanks for all the help

Time to stay away from card comparison sites for a few months I guess!!
It seems december is the magical month that I get accepted for cards (Vanq dec 2009, Cap1 dec 2010) so I shall wait until around then
Still can't quite understand how I can so easily get £6k of 0% bike finance but Aqua and Barclaycard Initial won't touch me... But hey!!0 -

Hehe it's the difference between secured and unsecured debt! They can always send the heavies around to grab the bike back!Debt free, moved, got new stuff for the new flat - got everything I wanted and need - now just saving.0 -
Lived at current address since 12/2004, on electoral role since 02/2009
Not long enough on the Electoral role? Not much I can do there except wait...
Out of curiosity, why are you on the voters role since 2009 and not in 2004, even though you lived at the same address for all those years? You should have registered straight away in 12/2004.
I don't think the length of time on electoral role matters, as the time living at the address is more important. You can't match the length of time living at the address with the time on the electoral role.0 -
No particular reason, just never bothered registering. This is actually the first time I have ever been on the electoral role, and the 2010 election was the first time I voted!!0
