Hi, Am very suspicious by nature and want to run this past you all to see if you think it is ok
I quite often purchase fuel from Tesco, handing them my club card then my credit card(which is also a tesco one) the last time I did this the attendant said I would earn more points by just using my credit card as he says it is also a club card of sort, now I am not sure about this. (husband was also told same thing by a different attendant, which makes me think they have been told to say it)

Is your credit card clubcard account linked to your normal clubcard account? It usually would be....
As per here:

You earn over twice as many points using your credit card as the clubcard, and can have the accounts linked so they go into the same "pot" of points.

The Tesco Credit card is a Clubcard too. When using it you do not have to present your clubcard as well.
You do get more points by using the clubcard credit card rather than another method of payment.
You only need to use the clubcard credit card as opposed to presenting them both.

Yes, to ensure you get one point per £1 for fuel, just use the Tesco Credit Card, if you use the ordinary CC you get one point per £2.00 of fuel.
If they are linked together that ensures you get just the one statement with your combined points.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
This goes for all shopping in Tesco stores too - not just petrol

Yes I believe it is correct.
Another post somewhere on MSE stated that if you pay for fuel by Tesco CC then you SHOULD NOT hand over or scan a separate clubcard as you will get fewer (or less??) points if you do.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
