Family tax credits and nontaxable earnings?

Can anyone give me some advice?
My husband is employed by the MOD as a civilian on an army base outside of the uk. I have just got a job as dependent on camp and this means that I pay national insurance contributions but do not pay taxes. When I refill my family tax credits do I declare my earnings?

yes - you need to declare all earnings.

Earnings are taxable - it's just that presumably you don't earn enough to pay tax but that doesn't mean that your earnings are "non-taxable". Non-taxable income means things that would never have tax deducted no matter how large a sum (e.g. student grants)

Hi thanks for your input :)
No I will be earning what would be a taxable amount of earnings but because we are abroad it will not be taxed. I know I should just phone up FTC and ask but anything out of the normal never seems to be easily resolved and you seem to end up with loads of duff info. Wanted to have a bit of an idea before I phoned LOL...

According to this page - you do need to declare income earned overseas http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/tcmanual/TCM0118060.htm but I guess it would probably be best to call them (and sit in the queue!....)
