heheh, I already work for them
Look, most people, have to ask employers for a job, send their CV with most of the stuff made up or elaborated. There's no fun in that, no risk, no panache!
Why should we, the job hunters always be the ones sending our stuff to employers?
I want employers to send something to me, I'm not the sort of guy who would take on something I'm unsuited for.
So it's a risk taking someone on without seeing their CV, but hey, the odds of something good are still much better than that of the National Lottery.
Do you not believe the theory, that it is very possible, that the best person for a role, may not have the particular qualification needed for a certain job, but they'd never be taken on without it, so this person never gets to fulfill their potential, and the employer doesn't have the best person for the job, where as, if they weren't qualificationilist they might've had.
I'm not saying I don't have qualifications, but, you must see my point!
I think this is an interesting experiment, an employer hiring someone, without all the red tape.
And remember, not all posh people are twits, and not all of them have degrees....
That is very true, Stephen Fry is ok in my books!0 -

I don't understand why our lives are ruled by:
-Rules/Regulations/Red Tape
-ID this & ID that
-CV this & CV that
It drives me MAD !!
Where are all the good jobs, where's the simple life gone ??
This country is a joke.

The reason employers are less likely to take risks these days is that it can be very difficult to get rid of someone if the risk doesn't pay off! Plus you might do a huge amount of damage to assets and reputation while your new employer takes that risk!
If you already work for the council, you must be able to view their vacancy bulletin. Is there anything there you fancy? If you want to stay on the manual side, there's parks and gardens, recycling and refuse collection, highways no doubt as well. If you want to get into an office, then getting into agencies and seeing if your skills are up to scratch is not a bad way to go.
While it might be nice if you could just say "G'is's a job" and employers would queue up to do so, in real life it doesn't work that way.
But you might see if your local paper would like to feature you, perhaps on the day they do job adverts?
One thought if you want to make more money is to see if a private agency would pay you more, or even think about setting up your own.Signature removed for peace of mind0
