I could be wrong but I think it stops if you remarry or live with a new partner.Dum Spiro Spero0

You lose it if you live with someone or remarry:

LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -
Widows Benefit doesn't exist anymore.0

If it's widowed parents allowance that you mean, you will no longer be entitled to it in those circumstances.0

It's called Bereavement Allowance and is paid for 52 weeks, if you co-habitate or marry it stops.0

There is a bereavement allowance, yes. There is also a widowed parents allowance. They are two very different things and it isn't clear from the OP which one it is, as she states 'widow's benefit'. Either way it ceases if the claimant takes a new partner.
She may actually be receiving 'widow's benefit' (in the form of widowed mothers allowance or widow's pension) if her spouse died after 11th April 1998 but prior to 9th April 2001; there has been no migration for claims awarded prior to 9/4/01. Again, same applies in that it ceases if the claimant takes a new partner.0 -

Is this just if the claimant marries or does living together as a couple count?0
