                    Hi
Does anyone know how long it takes to transfer money by quick transfer from a Santander account. I made an online transfer on the 27th April and it still isn't in the receiving account ?? I know we've had bank holidays but surely it should be transfered by now??
I cant believe they are also charging me £5.00 under funding fee. I've been moving my money out so I can close the account. I was unaware of having to fund it with a fixed amount, this was an old alliance and leicester account which I'd had for many years.
I've have had nothing but trouble since it switched to Santader.

Depends if it went by faster payments or not. If not, 2 nights, it will be processed the next day after instruction, then deposited early the day after that.0

Their Faster payments service is wholly inadequate - £300 limit per day on your account, if you set it up automatically to pay tomorrow as well, that one goes by the normal slow route. I know as I am stuck circulating £1000 through the account to get the 5% interest rate/avoid the £5 underfunding fee and it takes 1 transaction to get the money in and 4 to get it out (if I want it by Faster Payments, it means 4 visits to the site, or one visit/one transaction but money lost for 3 days!)
Come on Santander, sort it out - First Direct, NatWest and Halifax manage it in the 000s per transaction without a hitch, and if you can send £300 and receive money instantly, you can send £3000 (it clearly works!!!!!).

Santander did a fast payment to my hsbc account and it took 30 minutes.0

By the way the funding requirement for an old A&L account is £500/month.
When they switched to the Santander badge they tried to charge the under-funding fee relating to the £1000/month. Those of us who noticed had the fee removed but they probably gained from those who didn't know the correct amount.
You also get problems if you pay in on a Saturday at the end of the month because then the payment is taken into account for the next working day (in the next month).0 -
Just got my first faster payment done with santander !! only been waiting 3 years. The internet banking is upgraded now,a nd there is a quick transfer widget on the left, you can do it from there.0

My friend trasnferred £100 to my Co-op account from santander about an hour ago.
She used internet banking....I did ask her to sent a fiver first (to see how quickly it went) and then if it was quick, send the rest. However she didn't and it hasn't arrived.
Shall I expect this sometime next week or is there a chance it will arrive before then?0 -

As far as I know the first payment will go by BACS (so should arrive on around Wednesday next week).
If she sends you any more, then it should go by FP (i.e. instantly).0 -

You'll get it in 3 or 4 working days, she should have sent 1p first and it would have went by bacs then the next one would have went by faster payments. You can even do it straigh after you send the 1p. Its a rediculous security measure.0
