My Windows XP has gone evil again...
All my desktop shortcuts are not displaying on my desktop (they haven't been deleted as if I go into 'My Computer' and keep clicking 'up' it shows all the shortcuts there). Also when I right click on my desktop no menu comes up - it still comes up in programs, just not on the desktop. What have I done to my computer and how do I fix it, please?!

Any third party themes or desktop programmes installed? Probably easier doing a rollback to a previous system restore point.Yellowlawn

Try http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm line 195 - Restore Desktop icons and Taskbar, though it may need any of several desktop tweaks on that page.0

yellowlawn, I don't have desktop software/themes installed. I've just tried System Restore - that just keeps saying it can't restore as nothing on the computer has changed, even though I have tried dates I know were before the problems started.
Chippy_Minton - I'll try those now, thanks.
