Beware the shop owner/manager:
"Last year I was in a well known pet chain, and got chatting to the Deputy manager who told me, all that my cat needs is a anti flea coller and a dose of wory stuff every few months"
Unless it's Drontal wormer or Frontline flea treatments stuff sold in supermarkets etc is a waste of time & money - esp flea collars! I think this person was just trying to drum up some additional income from you. Anything of that nature needs to be sourced from the vets.
Vaccinations - unsure but if cat is always outdoors probably better to be safe than sorry.0
