    My experiences with these companie:

    I had 3 CCJ's, and 3 or 4 defaults dating back to around 2001-ish.

About 3 years ago i applied for a Vanquis and Aqua card and was accepted. In the meantime the CCJ's and defaults dropped offf my CRF. I under estimated how much the interest would set me back on the Vanquis card in particular, and coupled with being made redundant, the balance shot up to £1600 with a minimum payment of £90 a month to Vanquis alone. Went to my bank to see what they could suggest and came away with a small loan to clear the cards, and some left over for my wedding. I've also been approved for a Platinum card. My CCJ's etc disappeared over 2 years ago. Dont assume that as soon as your defaults disappear you will be approved by the main lenders. It all takes time, and the more applications for credit you make, the more it will affect your credit file!;)

haha poor thing. anyway in response to the op, i would try aqua. i dont understand why theyre so hard to get anyway.
    whats difficult about them

They don't seem to like no credit history and seem to prefer those with adverse - I have none and they have declined me twice even though they say they're for those with little or no credit history. They also only use Call Credit and now I can't get past that page even though I've got no adverse anywhere.
On the bright side the first time I applied they searched me six times for one application and had to give me compensation...:D
