We always had large phone bills partly through calling abroad until someone at Virgin let slip (by accident I think ) that there is an inclusive minutes package availible on the landline.

You pay a fixed sum for a fixed number of minutes like you do with a mobile package, which you can use at any time of day or night and to any number (excluding premium) as well as calling abroad.

Our phone bill has more than halved and despite really long phone calls we always have plenty of minutes left!

Even though there is a cheap international rate with Virgin you can do better.
