    means the that the law firm get lots of nice money for doing things that the sons would do for free.

    The firm I work for have never had a problem with taking a back seat to the family Executors or relinquishing their Executorship. It's usual for a solicitors bill to get Grant of Probate to be in the region of £3000 so its not a cheap business using a solicitor!
    Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck :)

    In one case in my family the solicitor charged £4000 to settle an estate worth £8000 in total.
