Help re possible mortgage fraud

Anyone ever had any experience of mortgage fraud etc. Sale fallen through due to it etc. I have posted a thread here. I'm a bit concerned that this person is claiming to live at my address to purchase a house in excess of £100k.

could be an id theft....have you done a recent check on your credit report, try Experian or Equifax, I think they have a 30 day trial offer...see if any other credit has been obtained by someone else using your address....ie credit cards or loans etc...0

Their next trick could be to arrange for their mail to be forwarded. you will be none the wiser as the post office will forward all mail addressed to them to their new address whilst they still use your address.
Going through this at the moment, with the previous occupants failing to tell creditors that they have moved. First I knew was when baliffs knockd on the door.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Has anyone got a link for Experian/Equifax so I can get my credit file online? Any info appreciated. Thanks.
Silvercar,
Hope you get your problems sorted re previous occupants etc. What a pain in the butt, particularly with it coming up to Christmas as well.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0 -

Very little I can do. It was their address so its not ID theft, I can't notify companies that they've moved, even customs and excise wouldnt let me inform them they've moved!
So I now just keep a utility bill, in my name, by the front door. Baliffs polite once I show them that. Postman now knows I won't sign for their stuff and they've redirected ordinary mail.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Have you tried to contact the vendors of the property the suspected fraudster is trying to buy, explaining your concerns?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

No I haven't but I have thought about it. Have a copy of the paperwork, although I did return originals. They'd be stung for nearly £150k if this deal goes through and the guy provides proof (how I don't know), that he lives at my address.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot.
