    My view is that if your parents are mentally fairly capable, or if one of them is, then this should work fine. The only time when I have seen problems was when there were allegations of elderly abuse, bullying and possible poor care. There was also an issue with very poor nutrition. The person who required care was not fully mentally capable and was not able, in my opinion, to alert anyone to the problems she may have been having.

    Someone in that position is very vulnerable and I suppose a carer in your own home has greater opportunity to do a poor job or be abusive than a carer in a nursing home where other staff (and possibly residents) are present.

    If your parents are able to express themselves easily to you or someone else, then I see this as being a very good option.
