Get paid for having RAC cover?!

Maybe I'm missing something obvious here ...

... But on Quidco it says that the cashback rate for RAC breakdown policies is "£40 for Personal based policies worth £30-£100". The RAC website says that a personal-based (as opposed to vehicle-based) policy is £53.50 for single cover, with an online discount of £15 taking the cost to £38.50. So I'd get £40 cashback for taking out a £38.50 policy? Profit of £1.50 and free breakdown cover to boot?!

Has anyone done that? Does it track OK in Quidco?

I tried this, and received an email from Quidco stating expected cashback was £20 for my £38.50 purchase.

I have queried this and I am awaiting a reply from them.

I have too recently taken up this offer with Quidico.
I brought a policy for the year with RAC at the discounted rate of £99 for the year (it was around £140 before the discount and as my car is over 11 years old I thought this would be the best option! :rotfl:).

Within 2 hours of buying the policy, Quidico sent me an email confirming my purchase and they are tracking it with the view of me gaining £40 cash back! Rather chuffed with my deal as I'm getting the policy for £59.

Obviously hoping the Quidico offers goes through well.. I think this isn't a bad deal :).

I've queried it with Quidco, too. I asked them to confirm that the purchase for £38.50 would attract a cashback rate of £40 as per their website, and what I got back was one of the most useless, ambiguous answers to a question that I've ever seen! I've replied, asking for clarification.

That sounds like the same answer I got!

Please update us if you get a clarification - I thought I would just have to wait and see what happened when the cashback was confirmed.

This is hard work - I think Carl from Quidco may be a bit 'hard of thinking' - I've clearly explained what it is that I'm asking, but he just doesn't seem to get it. I've sent yet another message clarifying the clarification of my original question!! Let's see if he catches on this time ...
