I would call them in a couple of days and your new payment amounts should be on the system.
I done my renewal today and will call Friday to find out my new amounts.I do this every time I make a update and the new amounts are always there after a couple of days.

I called on 6th April and reported a change and my first payment for the new amount went into my bank account on the 22nd :)

There is no set timescale for payments to change. You will be sent award notice albeit after the payments have changed. Whilst other advice from posters is phone the helpline in a few days time it's up to you but the advisor may not be able to tell you.

I reported a change in circumstances on 18th Apr and got my first new payment on 3rd May. As I had heard it could taje up to 6 weeks to change from joint to single claim I was quite pleased.

I renewed my tax credits tonight on the phone and was told not to phone for at least 2 weeks to find about my payments. told him I wasn't planning on phoning anyway. I asked why not to phone out of curiosity and was told they are very busy (as if I did not know after being on hold for 30 mins) at this time of year( another obvious answer).

You usually find that after renewing your tax credits the system automatically throws out a random payment or 2.

This is completely normal. After my renewal last years I received 2 payments into my bank account within a week. They were both legit and were just payments owed.

I think you will be safe enough.
The loopy one has gone :j
