Cheap home office equipment?
[Deleted User]
I wonder if anyone knows of sources of cheap home office equipment? I was particularly thinking about where businesses have failed and their stuff is sold off?
I really need a mobile whiteboard for my home office - but they're over £200 new ! No way can I afford that.
Anyone any ideas?
PS Need a mobile one cos walls are already full plus it will partly screen the bed (office is also our spare room).

Have you considered using Magic Whiteboard. I haven't used it myself but recall seeing it on Dragons Dens and was very impressed, and slightly jealous that l didn't come up with the idea myself. www.magicwhiteboard.co.uk0

I use local second hand office supplies shops. Every town I have lived in has had one nearby and I have bought filing cabinets at £40, desks at £50 and I got a load of office chairs that looked as good as new but O2 threw out when they moved offices.0

I know that when whiteboards get thrown out it is usually because the surface has worn out or someone has used permanent marker on them. Magic Whiteboards which come on a roll are a cheaper alternative.
I must admit that some of my office furniture has come from the British Heart Foundation larger charity shops, Lidl (my computer desk) and my shelving is some galvanised stuff from Focus DIY which cost me around £20 - it isnt fancy but it does the job.
Another place to look for office furniture is freegle.0 -
I usually buy my office supplies online from Office Allsorts. Cheap and deliver next day in the UK
hope this helps 0 -
Try white melamine faced chipboard panels from the diy for whiteboards. Use Methylated Spirits to clean permanent marker from white boards.0

Look on Freecycle for your area. A charity I know of completely re-kitted their office, including a conference table

Was going to say the same, if a business has gone bust their equipment often ends up at auction if the auction house are also bailiffsMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for, but if you're after cheap office furniture then I know Furniture123 have a good selection.0

£200 is hell expensive… try furniture location and email them your specific query… and you might end up finding what you want at the affordable prices… Got a good Customer service…as per experience.0
