I would use these people for BMW parts. They are reliable and cheaper than a main dealer.

Please do not use the cheapest brake pads you can find. Have a look in the manual for the oil type and quantity, or better still, buy a Haynes manual either new or second hand.0 -
Either euro car parts as above or try gsf, both offer oem products without the bmw price. Oil wise I used 5w-40 in my Is, the same as I now use in my 1997 328.0

Agree with Andygb on not buying cheapest brake pads.
Two things I wouldn't recommend going cheap on - brakes and tyres!
As others have mentioned, best place to get fairly cheap but decent brake pads are GSF Car Parts or Euro Car Parts. Stick to brands like Pagid, Textar, ATE - who are all OEM manufacterers and not expensive.
ECP's Carlube oils and GSF's Fuchs range of oils are half decent.
Best thing is to search on either of those two parts specialists websites to see what they have to offer for oil.0 -
Thankyou all, would you ever use Asda smartprice Oil its only about £1.36 or something for a little bottle.
I appreciate its prob not the best hence the price but its cheap, be grateful for your advice.
