CSA payment system changing .. please help and advise

I don't mind paying for a service, if it actually works! The CSA doesn't, so a waste of everyone's money.
It does for many. It did for me - eventually! There was no way my ex was ever going to pay voluntarily, and I NEEDED the CSA (and the courts when he wouldn't pay) to enforce payment. The thing is, I doubt that having to pay whether it be through a fine, or a fee would have made any difference to him - he tried every way to dodge paying for many years!0 -
Just a minor point
- It's not just PWC's that will have to pay to use the service. There will be some NRP's out there that will need to apply and as a consequence pay the fee. 0 -

Mrsspendalot - Can I ask if you know where I can find any more info out about the cases where there has been abuse/domestic violence? I have had to involve the police on quite a few occasions because of my ex's threatening and abusive behaviour towards me, the last time he blamed various issues including the fact that I was trying to make him support our little one financially and was "dragging him through the CSA just because he had had better things to spend his money on recently than child support" What a nice man!!

There is no more information available at the moment, that I'm aware of. It was mentioned in the public consultation document that where applicants had been the victims of domestic violence their application would be fast tracked straight to the new system (rather than having to try and reach an agreement directly first) and that there would be no charges to pay in these cases.
They haven't yet given any detail on how they intend to monitor any of these sensitive cases, or whether there will be any burden of proof required etc. The consultation closed on 7th April and the results are due to be announced in the 'summer' whenever that means

I don't understand why you expect your OH to pay the application fee? Surely it's down to the PWC to contact the CSA thus opening a caseI meant the £100 application fee.
which then leaves a PWC with the application fee
Starting from 2012, the Government plans to charge:- £100 as an upfront fee (or £50 for parents on benefit) for those who want to use the future CSA. Only “Victims of domestic violence” will be exempt (although there is no detail on how this will be proved or checked).
- An on-going charge of between 7% and 12% on any maintenance paid to parents who rely on the future CSA to collect their child maintenance, as well as an extra 15-20% charge added to the non-resident parent’s payment.
*SIGH*

Unfortunately there's two PWC's. PWC 1 is absolutely fine and we'd easily be able to arrange a private agreement. PWC 2 lives in cuckoo land and would go via the CSA.
As the CSA don't recognise private agreements we'd need both cases to go through the CSA and it wouldn't be fair to make PWC 1 pay for the application.
We'd be able to make direct payments to PWC 1 so there wouldn't be any collection fee there. PWC 2 would probably still need to be via the CSA unfortunately.0 -

I think there will be a few other people in exactly the same boat as yourself, I'm PWC2 though
;):rotfl:but then I have no choice if the NRP is hell bent on not paying. *SIGH*
