Ryanair - spelling error on booking.

I've been booking a large group holiday away, and to my horror realise I spelt 'Bethanie' as 'Bathanie' on the Ryanair booking system earlier this evening. Their website says it's £100 for a name change... but has anyone had any experience of them being more lenient for a genuine (and obvious) spelling error?

Frankly you'd be very lucky
they tend to stick to these charges religiously. Hence why I don't like Ryanair...

Sometimes charge sometimes dont ...call them and be polite and you might just be ok .

I have seen plenty of examples on here of genuine spelling errors being made (which yours clearly is) and many reports have said that if you contact Ryanair promptly and explain that it has been a spelling error (NOT that you need a name change) then they have been very accomodating and made the change either for free or with a small admin fee.0

If it`s a Christian name I don`t think it matters.

Consensus is risk it or phone and explain.0 -
As Incapuppy has said, lots of examples of RyanAir amending a spelling error if contacted promptly and politely.

It must be my lucky day... after being on hold for around 5 minutes, a perfectly pleasant agent answered the phone and made the spelling change without any fuss or charge. Thank goodness!0

Glad you got it sorted. However it isn't your lucky day - Ryanair nearly always sort errors like this with minimal fuss and no charge. Its a topic that crops up periodically on these forums and the result is always the same as yours!0 -
There are so many myths about RA that people don`t know what to believe.
Latest I heard was their metal frame for measuring "hand luggage" was made under size to catch people out.
Staff using hand scales to check the weight of hand luggage at the gate.
And of course, the scales for checked in luggage being inaccurate.
It`s in RA`s interest to keep customers happy because believe it or not, they actually do want people to fly with them.
The moans and groans come from those that haven`t read the T&C.0
