in Credit cards
I currently have a Nationwide Flex account and a Gold Credit card. I've been using both happily in Europe and farther afield for several years and found the free cash withdrawls on the debit card particularly useful.
Now this has gone should I stick with the cards I have or is there a better alternative?
Off to France in the summer and the USA at the end of the year.

Nationwide Gold is still good for existing customers, matches all cards in Europe and there are only 3 or 4 better outside of Europe.
Flex Account Debit card is just 'in the pack' now, beaten principally by
Cumberland Building Soc (must live in branch area)
Metro Bank (open account in person in London)
Norwich & Peterborough (some account restrictions, and merger with Yorkshire Building Soc may change accounts?)
There are other options, but that is the 'basic' lineup of cards.0 -
For charge free PURCHASES and the "perfect" Mastercard exchange rate worldwide I use a Santander Zero CREDIT card. For ATM withdrawals I use a N&P DEBIT card, also charge free and "perfect" Visa exchange rate, to keep this privilege you need to open an a/c and make a minimum of 5 transactions a month. As mentioned above they are merging with the Yorkshire building society so things may change but then I will change too if any charges are made as I did when Nationwide started charging. I have read on here that the Santander Zero DEBIT card is also charge free but cannot confirm this.0

Santander Zero card is free, but you need to hold a Santander Mortgage or Santander Savings/Investments to qualify
(Mortgage account holders can't be in arrears, Savings/Investments £10k+ for over 3 months)0
