    Hi
    I

Hope this long post has helped in some way

    Thanks for all of this

The park and ride is closer than the court so i'm hoping they take that into account when deciding whether to pay the £2 it costs to park there.

I'm dreading the work expenses, have a feeling the form hasn't been filled in at all and if it has they haven't done it right! The person thats done it is on holidays so I can't even find out.

No matter what time I finish for the day I still won't be able to go into work and if i finish on a wednesday i won't be able to go back in until the following monday. Whatever happens i'll be losing money.

When I did it my employer wrote to the court stating that, because of the way shifts were allocated, if I couldn't work a full week I wouldn't be able to have any work that week, and the court then paid me for the entire week; I think I was in court Mon and Tue.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

I've just received a letter to do jury service. Trying to defer it but I don't know whether they will.

I have been unemployed since January and have finally got myself a summer job lined up that requires me to do a week of compulsory training. Guess when my jury service starts? Yep the week of my training! Typical!

I have written a letter with my form explaining that I've been unemployed so can't afford to lose this job, but as it's only temporary they may make me do it anyway.

In some ways it may not be so bad if I do have to do it. Yes I'll be very annoyed that I won't be then able to work when I need the money but I'm starting Uni part time in September and by having to do jury service at another time it's likely to disrupt my study.

    Talk about bad timing

I was asked to do it 3 weeks after getting a puppy. The work and dedication that took there was no way i could do jury service for who knows how long. Pup was too young to have jabs so kennels were out, no family capable or willing either. I decided I wasnt going to go. I created an excuse and sent it off to the man, he wrote back saying dont bother coming. Has never been in contact 10 years later. There is always a way out of these things. I would do it now if asked, I have much more time now.

Ten years ago they weren't so fussy anyway. Back then I would have been exempt from having to do it, but since then they've changed the rules and I would have to do it, and I think there are hardly any exceptions. But I would try like mad to get out of it because I dread the thought of ever having to do it.

And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

My husband was called up for jury service, total nightmare being self employed and we had a new baby at the time. He did go to do it but on the first morning told the guy there his concerns and was told he was excused and could go home. He has never been recalled, so has dodged it for now as this was 5 years ago.

I have never been called and would actually like to do it, typical.
