Rat bedding question

I'm hoping to get a pair of rats in the next few weeks and despite doing lots of reading I'm unsure what I should put in the bottom of their cage. I know P@H use wood pellets but I know these can be quite dusty. I also know that wood shavings are no good. Can anyone tell me what they use and the best place to buy it please.

I used to use the http://www.petsathome.com/shop/lightweight-non-clumping-recycled-paper-based-cat-litter-25ltr-by-bio-catolet-15267 pretty good value.
Don't use hay, straw or wood shaving. Hey and straw can injury there eyes and wood shaving is bad for the lungs. Unbleached tissues paper is quite good they'll tear bits off and uses it where they want it.0 -
I use carefresh (recycled paper), you can get it in big bags at P@H or cheaper online. Its not dusty, doesn't smell and a bag lasts ages as it expands once its out of the bag.
Where are you getting your rats from?0 -
i use megazorb in their litter tray and as substrate, lasts ages and absorbs all the pong!
My rats are rather lazy so don't dig much but when they do everything tends to get chucked out the cage, no matter whats on the bottom!0 -
Thanks for the ideas, very much appreciated0

I use bio-catolet, my boys seem to get on with it the best and a big bag usually lasts quite a while.0

I use Finacard - comes in huge bales and is cheap. My 9 love it as it's big enough for them to move pieces around and make beds with. Stops them smelling so much too! A bale lasts me around 3-4 months so beware of size - but is great value compared to carefresh and the like! Where's the cheapest place to buy Finacard? It looks pretty good.0
