New army wife

Hi all!
I'm hoping to get some tips and advice.
I married a soldier in September (for my sins) and he is due for posting in June with a view to starting at his new unit in September.
We were together the last time he was posted but he was moved from Germany to the UK and his unit is only 18 miles from where I was already living and what is now our home.
When he moved from Germany he wasn't given any financial aid which was probably his own fault - he didn't ask what he was entitled to etc.
NOW - the issue is this. I don't know what we are entitled to for helping with removals etc this time around. We will be moving from our home into a married quarter most likely. What do I need to do?
I have asked my husband to get some information but he is on leave now and then he is going on tour so I have no idea how to access the information we will need upon his return.
As you probably understand we have lots of things to arrange such as renting out our property etc and I am sure I will have to take care of most of this.
Any links to information or help from your experiences would be great.
Thanks!

As far as I am aware you don't get help moving into Quarters, only between, although I am am sure someone will come along and confirm this.
The house you live do you own this? if so what will be happening to it?
However make sure you have a forces rail card 1/3 off train travel often helps, evern if you only use it a few times a year.
Make sure he is claiming motor milage allowance, to travel from home to his place of work.
Ensure you are both on the electorl roll - Helps when applying for credit often hard in the forces
Go on tickets for troops and apply for some good free days out0 -
Yes we own the house and we'll be renting it out, we're only moving into a quarter because he is being posted, presumably away from this area0

SS,
I am going to assume this is your first move.
Your husband needs to get an 1132 and apply for housing wherever he is going to be posted to. Once you have a qtr address you either need to arrange removals yourself if it is a UK posting or get your husband to go into welfare and request removals. Welfare may say that you are not entitled to removals but you are IF it is an overseas posting. Regardless of whether it is your first or last move.
Your husband WILL be entitled to disturbance allowance regardless of where you are posted. This needs to be done via JPA. He may be entitled to HTD and other claims, but if he is unsure he is best asking his clerk upon his return.
In relation to your house, if you intend on renting your home out and it is mortgaged you MUST request permission to do so. Otherwise you will invalidate your insurance. Make sure your buildings insurance is a landlord policy.
I use an agent that pays me every month whether I have a tenant or not. This does cost me a lot (they charge the tenant £675 and I get £520) but it covers my mortgage, and the letting agent is liable to remove tenants if they squat. At the very least ensure that you have the agreement where the agent sorts out the maintenance on the property and bills you because if you end up somewhere like Cyprus it can make life difficult if you get a call saying the drains are blocked! Also I would say take out a heating system policy for servicing the boiler etc, and also take out a policy that covers drains (I found out the hard way). Both of mine set me back £26 per month.
I hope that this helps. If you have any questions feel free to ask away.0
