Santander CC dilemma

I recently got accepted for a Santander CC and have since received the credit agreement by post which I have not signed and returned as it was only then that I read on MSE about the 0% Forex loading fee feature of the Santander Zero CC:money:

As I will be travelling to Goa soon, I thought Zero would be the better one and I rang up Santander to see whether I can have the Zero instead of the one I was originally accepted for. Unfortunately, I was told I should make a fresh application for the Zero.

I am in a dilemma;

1) What are the chances of getting accepted for a Zero considering Santander would have done a recent credit check for my original application?

2) Should I cancel the already approved application before I apply for a Zero? If I did this and got rejected for the Zero;I'll end up having no CC at all :mad:

Advice would be greatly appreciated....
