Waterslide badly made (ukoutdoortoys)

I bought a £250.00 waterslide for my children, i had it for an hour and it didn't stay inflated properly then my son said he found a hole in it so i went to look and got my daughter off i deflated it and found two hole's one the stitching has come undone the other look's like it's came out at the seam on further inspection the slide is extremely poor quality glue bit's coming unstuck and velcro doubled back then glued, and not to the edges how it should be. The blower is less powerfull than my bouncy castle which is half the size and stays rigid where as the slide goes soft as soon as you stand on it and give's way when at the top which is 9.5 ft high which is dangerous as my daughter fell off it (she was ok) the site i got it from said they replace not refund but i don't believe the product is safe does anyone know what right's i have?

If it was legally imported into the EU it should have a CE mark showing that it is safe.

If you have explained the problems to the retailer and they are offering a replacement, then they may think this will solve the problem. So this may be a reasonable move.

However, if the replacement product is also not fit for purpose you will need to inform the retailer of this and insist on a full refund.

All of our inflatable water slides are made from the highest grade material to avoid punctures, each water slide is also Double stitched to avoid spliting. Even if a small puncture appears the water slide will stay fully inflated by the high output electric fan included with every inflatable water slide.

I would say that your split on the seam is a manufacturing defect, so contact the manufacturer?

This bit made me laugh, it's a slide, if your daugher can't climb it without falling off, don't let her play on it.

Why did you miss out the beginning of the sentence that you quoted? It couldn't be because you're point scoring by taking it out of context by any chance?

It's not the climbing that's the problem, it's the slide giving way because it's not rigid enough, that is.

To be a fair - you have taken it out of context...

However, I do think this is another case of not happy with the item, so looking at a way of returning it and getting my money back - let's find everything and anything wrong and claim it is faulty.

    eg...

There may well be a fault with the seams - but the retailer has the right to repair, replace or refund.

The issue with it underinflating may well be solved if the seams are correctly sealed. A replacement item - as offered by the retailer - may well rectify the issue.

Why contact the manufacturer at this stage? The retailer has offered to replace it ?
