  • And your not going to get a lawyer and claim a shed load of compo? I would id be fuming ;)

Haha, for loss of enjoyment from my jacket potato?! :p

Will take it in tomorrow on my way past Sainsburys.

The tip about trying each corner of the packaging - it sounds a bit strange having people putting it to there mouths in the store!

It wasn't "cheap" cheese, it was the standard brand cheese that I find offers good taste/value.

Ironically, I'd actually bought two small packets rather than 1 large pack so that it would stay fresher for longer. Typical eh! :rotfl:

Thanks for the advise all :-) I'll let you know if I have any problems tomorrow but from what you've all said it should be fine (hopefully!).

    Hi,

I'm sure you will get it replaced/refunded no bother, but if it was I, jings, would've scraped the bits off, be fine, maybe a bit more mature, but then again you need to pay more for the mature stuff.

I had the same problem with cheese from Asda last month and it was a simple job of them just replacing it no questions asked.

Shouldn't be a problem getting a replacement - had to replace a pack of oranges yesterday as the use by date was tomorrow and all turned white _pale_
  • Took it back in this morning, and had an apology and my money back.

Will buy some fresh when I do my shopping later and hopefully will have better luck!

i would have put it on ebay the french like there cheese like that you could of taken it out the packet & called it home made blue cheese the sainsburys way.
i had the same problem in iceland but they didnt replace or refund said i should have checked product before i paid, then i told them were to shove it in the nicest way i could. (thats why mums go to iceland, not dads like me)

Hi, I bought a small bag of grated parmesan from Tesco, only to sprinke it onto my dinner to find that it had a lump in the middle that was blue mold, yuck, it had 2 weeks before its date. I took it back got my money back, said to customer services that I wanted to complain as it had ruined my dinner, got a letter of apology with a £5 moneycard in it a couple of days later :T.

It was the same with the cheese I got from sainsburys recently! Should have taken mine back.
  • Sainsbury's pwn products have a free phone customer care number on them to ring, they can usually deal with it over the phone by sending out a store card loaded with the amount if you have a product that has gone mouldy and don't intend on going back top the store for a while!
