Finding a charity

Hi..

At my school I've been asked to find a charity that my form can do something good for before the end of term (end of next week), and am a bit stuck on what to do.

I need to arrange something, my form of 20, can easily do to reaise money for worthfile charity.

All advice is appreciated!

Ash

    Short timescale or what?

is there an area that might interest people? If any students have lostrelatives to cancer for example, or would you like to help people your own age that are less fortunate?

On the practical side you could create Christmas gift boxes for kids in hospitals/terminally ill/ in low income families. Everyone could bring in things to create the boxes. Quite easy and quick.

Alternatively, you could set up a Christmas tree in the class where everyone writes Christmas messages to each other on it, and then donate the money you would have spent on cards to a charity.

    Personal favourites of mine are:

Sue Ryder Care - national but not operating in all areas.
    Cancer Research UK
    Starlight

if you find a charity then their website should have ideas on it, and if you give them a quick call, I'm sure their fundraising teams would be able to help out.

Thanks so much for the reply. Can you name a few charities that look out especially for children?
  • how about 'climb' it is an organisation which helps children and their families living with various metabolic diseases. just put climb into google and it comes up first
only 10 more work days this year!
  • the obvious childrens charities i can think of are the NSPCC and Childline and When you wish upon a star which helps make dreams come true for sick children
