I logged on to my online account today just to check the balance and noticed that I was on the standard plans for both gas and electricity. Called BG and was advised my tarrif, websaver 6 ended on April 30th, and I should have been notified by email, which I wasn't. The advisor changed me to websaver 11 and backdated it by 4 days for me, and even sent me out a Nectar card so I can take advantage of the points they give, and they have have given me 100 points to welcome me, and apparantly we get 200 points every quarter as long as we remain dual fuel customers, and we also get 200 points a year extra if we remain dual fuel customers. Well done BG, happy customer. Just check your account in case your deal has finished and you are reverted to the standard plan.

CC limits £26000

Long term CC debt £0

Total low rate loan debt £3000

Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

A wee glitch to watch out for.

I did actually get the e-mail from BG early April to advise that my websaver 6 was expiring at the end of the month and that standard gas and electricitytariffs would apply from May 1st unless I selected an alternative tariff. After a quick search around I concluded that moving to the latest iteration of websaver (11) would be the best option for me. So, I applied online. All sorted.

    Or so I thought.

Checked my BG online account today and found that my gas/electriity tariffs were both BG standard. I called BG and was advised that this was a glitch ie. if websaver 6 customers applied to switch to websaver 11 before May 1st then they were switched to it initially but it then "expired" at the end of April. Very helpful customer service however, they instantly put my account back to websaver 11 and backdated it to May 1st.

So - if you applied to switch from websaver 6 to websaver 11 before the end of April, I suggest you go and check your online account to make sure you're on the right tariff.

Not sure what advisor your spoke to but that's not quite correct.

When you apply for a new tariff it basically raises a task for someone to switch your tariff for you so don't be suprised to see yourself on standard for x amount of days until someone manually changes your tariff.

It will be backdated to the date you applied. :)
