Would you miss Christmas if you could?

I believe Xmas is important for us all kids, families, giving, helping remembering, xmas music, carols etc., ; what is truly appalling is the way consumerism/business turns it into a orgy of buying but what I find even worse is the way the Church in the UK never remind people about the true meanings of Xmas its like they collude with business; they are the dogs who fail to bark; they lack guts, they are complicit in the advertising, media hype and what has become a stampede of buy it, the more expensive etc., the better; see the qualities at the weekend with their adverts for perfume or whatever, if Jesus lived he would kick some !!!.

I do miss Christmas.

Unfortunately, as I work for the NHS and we provide a service out of "normal" hours, this is our busiest time.

Please spare a thought for those of us that don't get any choice in missing out on Christmas and end up eating our turkey dinners in the company of colleagues rather than family, and celebrating sometimes days later than everyone else. But hey, you get used to it, and at least you've got a chance once every 5 years or so to have your time at a real Christmas day.

Merry Christmas to anyone who will be working instead of enjoying - our thoughts are with you!
