Why credit card firms must refund price of faulty goods
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1382928/Credit-card-firms-refund-price-faulty-goods-students-legal-battle.html
Highlights protection for goods bought over £100 when they turn out to be faulty (if retailers are giving you the run around claiming they are not responsible, the credit card company is as well and therefore should be able to help!).

Don't understand why the Daily Mail makes out that Section 75 is something new, its only been around for 35 years!

They said it has been in existence for 30 years but most people only associate it with protecting you for travel, not other purchases, and this Financial Ombudsman Service case has highlighted its role for protecting other consumer purchases over £100 (not used as much as it could be due to lack of awareness).

I would love to know who 'most people' are - I've used it several times, and never for a travel product.Gone ... or have I?0 -
It sells papers, and thinks that enough people want to read about Section 75

Apologies, just trying to be helpful to other MSE users who may not have been aware.

If you pay for goods on a credit card and they are faulty on receipt, any credit card issuer can action a chargeback for this. I don't feel there is any lack of awareness re Section 75, anyone seeking advice will be advised of this option.0
